Scaffolding Safety Awareness

Falling from height is the most common reason for accidents and death in the construction industry.  Knowing how to work safely on scaffolds is a big part of protecting yourself from injury or death.  In a Bureau of Labor Statistics study, 72% of workers injured in scaffold accidents attributed the accident either to the planking or support giving way, or to the employee slipping or being struck by a falling object.  If your employees work on or around scaffolds and at height, then Fox Valley Safety’s scaffolding safety awareness training should be a high priority.

Scaffolding Safety Training Includes

  • Definitions under OSHA standards 1910.28 & 1926.454
  • Hazards associated with working on or near scaffolding
  • Types of scaffolds
  • Identify potential fall hazards
  • Types of fall arrest systems used
  • Dropped and falling objects

Scaffold safety starts from the ground up. Only safe work conditions and actions will prevent unnecessary injuries when working on these ever changing structures.
