Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Controlling a hazard at its source is the best way to protect employees.  Because it is not always feasible to use engineering or work practice controls to eliminate every hazard, personal protective equipment – also known as PPE – becomes necessary.  The challenge is how to get employees to wear their PPE.  Fox Valley Safety’s PPE training not only addresses OSHA’s standards, it includes reinforcement of your company’s PPE policies.

PPE Training includes:

  • Hazard assessment and equipment selection
  • Engineering and work practice controls to eliminate or reduce hazards before using PPE
  • When PPE is necessary
  • What PPE is necessary
  • Proper wear and fit of PPE
  • Proper care and maintenance, useful life, and disposal of PPE

PPE only works if it’s worn, and worn properly!
