Machine Guarding

Every year many people are injured, suffer amputations, or even get killed in incidents involving workplace machinery. According to OSHA, “workers who operate and maintain machinery suffer approximately 18,000 amputations, lacerations, crushing injuries, abrasions, and over 800 deaths per year.” Many machine guards and other safety features may be unfamiliar to their operators. Fox Valley Safety will instruct your employees on how to recognize the hazards associated with different types of equipment and safety precautions necessary to prevent those hazards.

Machine Guarding Training Includes:

  • Identify hazards associated with machines
  • Know when to use the safeguards
  • Understand when safeguards can be removed & by whom
  • Understand how the guard provides protection against identified hazards
  • What to do if a safeguard is damaged, missing, or unable to provide adequate protection

If machinery is not guarded, neither are you!
