Neenah, Wisconsin is a historic city with a rich industrial heritage. Founded in 1836, Neenah was originally a small trading post known as “Hau-wau-pun-gee”. It wasn’t until 1848 that the city was officially incorporated and named after the Menominee Chief Nehaunee. Neenah quickly grew into an important manufacturing center due to its location on the Fox River and its proximity to Lake Winnebago.
